Emma’s art explores human experience, from how we move to how we feel. She is fascinated by the dynamics of the human body and creates sculptures that capture moments in our lives which invite contemplation as well as bring joy.
Emma predominantly works in clay, before casting the final pieces in bronze or bronze resin. For this art trail, she will be showcasing new work depicting acrobats in motion in vibrant steel sculptures as well as drawing and prints.
Movement is central to her practice, both artistically and personally. She has practiced Capoeira for over twenty years; her dedication and love for this hobby have affirmed her belief in the importance of physical expression for our wellbeing. At the heart of her practice is a desire to celebrate movement, curiosity and the simple pleasure of being alive.
